  • What is West Chester Women's Ultimate?
To put it simply - the best experience you can have in college. West Chester Women's Ultimate is a nationally ranking competitive sport club based out of West Chester University in West Chester, PA. As a team we focus on maintaining a consistant practice and tournament schedule while also encouraging each other both socially and academically. There is no place on campus you rather be.
  • What if I've never played before?
Thats no problem! Its super typical especially for utimate that people who play have little to no knowledge of the sport prior to college. The fall semester we start slow and teach everyone the bascis and move on from there. By the end of the fall semster you'll have a firm grasp on pretty much most of what ultimate consists of. If you have any type of sports background thats a plus (basketball, soccer, track, volleyball etc.) but is totally not required.
  • Where and when do we practice?
We practice Monday and Thursday from 7-10pm on south campus behind the health science building. *Practices are subject to change - for updates on practices please contact wcuwomensultimate@gmail.com
  • What kind of equiptment do I need?
A white and dark shirt and a pair of cleats for tounraments and practices. Indoor practices and practices on the field hockey turf require sneakers or turf cleats.
  • Are there dues? And what do they do towards?
Yes, we do have dues. As a club sport we do get funding from the university but with the 42 club sports we have at WCU not everyone gets all the funding they need, so to ofset those costs we have dues. Dues are $150 per year ( We totally realize this is a large chuck of money especially while in college, so we do have payment plans that can be worked out with our Treasurer. These cover: - Hotels - Gas - Tournament Bid Fees - Uniforms (Partially not fully)
  • When are tournaments?
We play in tounraments during both the fall and spring semester. We usually do 3-4 in the fall and 4-5 in the spring including the series (sectionals, regionals, nationals?!). All tounraments are on the weekends, both saturday and sunday. We stay over in hotels for farther tounraments and drive daily for close by ones.
  • How many people are on the field at once?
7 players per team are on the field at a time. This typically consits of 3 handler and 4 cutters. Thinking of it in football terms, it would be 3 quarterbacks and 4 recievers.
